As a biotechnology company fabricating DNA strands for essential cancer research, Life Technologies had a real need for mission-critical cleanroom envelopes in their Austin, TX offices on an accelerated schedule. Microbinc was there to meet their needs. “They needed a Class 1000 modular cleanroom system installed within a six week time frame”, said Microbinc owner and operator Judy Andersen. “One of the great things about being local is that we can be present on-site at all stages of design, installation and certification should the client choose that option”.

Microbinc-provided proven solutions are designed to meet client needs while working within building constraints. Partnering with local Mechanical Engineering firms and General Contractors, Microbinc worked with LifeTech facilities management to plan and install an 800 square foot, self contained Class 1000 modular hardwall cleanroom, featuring three pneumatic controlled interlocking doors.

Customer bottom line is important to Microbinc. Due to the existing layout, they saw an opportunity to use the existing space to incorporate a single-pass system with the functionality of a recirculating system, increasing energy efficiency while working within existing constraints. “It was clear to us when we first assessed the room that it would accommodate a more energy-efficient system”, says Andersen, “so we made sure the client had that option”
